Ruby

Ruby, CH ATChC Kasomor’s Rip Tide Ruby CD RA CGN was bred and well loved by Linda Moran at Kasomor Duck Tolling Retrievers. She is from theTikka, OTCH CH KASOMOR'S WACK 'EM N STACK 'EM SH WCX CGN and Mick, CH Seabright's Start Me Up MH WCX NSDTR (US) WC RN litter.
In her life she has had many grand accomplishments! In March of 2012 Ruby and I, owner Shel Wilson, earned her first qualifying score towards her Companion Dog title. She was very young and performed well. Ruby had already earned her Pre-Novice title. I am actively training Ruby in competitive obedience and in June of 2013 she and Ruby completed their final leg towards their CD, Novice title.
Ruby and I earned their first two legs towards our Rally Obedience Novice title In May 2013. In September 2013 they completed the final qualifying leg towards that title with a High in Class, thus giving us her RN . We took a bit of a break and then we completed 3 more legs towards her Rally Obedience Advanced title, completing it at the Richmond Dog Fanciers trial in June of 2015. Then at the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Club of Canada's National Specialty, Ruby earned her first Rally Obedience Excellent leg towards her next title.
She is a young girl who wants to do nothing but please in the ring. In November 2012 I entered Ruby in the conformation ring for the first time. Ruby won Winners Female! This was a huge accomplishment for a green girl with me being a novice handler! At the next two shows Ruby with myself on the other end of the leash, as always, won Winners Female again and also took two Best Opposite Sex awards over a Special Female! February of 2013 Ruby goes Best Of Winners, yet again, for an additional 3 points! I am thrilled to share that Ruby earned her Championship the following Saturday going Winners Female again for another 3 points over a nice entry of girls that included an AKC Special. With compliments from judge Dianne Miller on how typey Ruby is; this was not the first time a judge has commented on how Ruby is the epitome of a toller either!
Ruby and I can also be seen running agility. In January 2013, at Ruby’s second ever agility trial, she ‘Q’d FIVE TIMES! Included in that was a 1st place in Starters Gamblers and a 3rd place in Starters Jumpers. In early February Ruby earned her Agility Dog of Canada title! In July 2013, after a very long drive to Quesnel B.C., Ruby earned the last Snooker Q we needed for the SGDC, Starters Games Dog of Canada title! GO RUBY GO!
Ruby is also a Therapy Dog. We as a team volunteer with Surrey Hospice Society and Pets and Friends. We make weekly visits to the Palliative Care Ward at Surrey Memorial Hospital seeing all the patients and staff, bring smiles and snuggles. Well Ruby snuggles, me not so much! One of the nicest things one of the nurses there said was, “Shelley you and your girl Ruby are changing lives here.” I m very glad that Ruby and I can bring a bit of joy into the lives of some who really need it.
Ruby is a very sweet girl. She is totally devoted, always wanting to please and is completely owner trained and handled in all venues. Ruby has proven that she is truly a versatile toller. She is a driven crazy dog at agility, very dedicated in her obedience work…. yet once she is wearing her Therapy Dog working vest, she is “Miss Mellow.” What you want, is what Ruby will do..which has earned her the nick name of “Ruby-Do!”

Ruby and I have found a groove in our agility trials lately. In September and October of 2016, Ruby achieved her Masters agility Dog of Canada title, Master Snooker Dog of Canada title and her Master Gamble Dog of Canada. In December of 2016 Ruby achieved that final 'Q' earning her Master Jumper Dog of Canada, and with that our ATChC, Agility Trial Champion of Canada. Way to go Ruby doo! Such a proud moment for me.
Ruby will bred spring of 2017. Watch the Future Litters page for additional information . I am now taking applications for prospective homes. If you are interested in chatting please contact me.

Ruby is my heart dog. She is coming up to 14 now and is still lively and loving. She competed at the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Club of Canada National Specialty in July of 2024 at Thunderbird Equestrian in Langley BC. She enjoyed agility and conformation. She is always happy and is so well loved.
